Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely set of mold-formed pottery artifacts from ancient Rome. First is the head of a "grotesque," a portrait with veristic detailing rather than stylized details. Next is a standing beggar figure, so-called because the fringe of their garment is held near the abdomen to hold what coins or food others have donated to them. Size of largest: 1.5" L x 1.75" W x 4.8" H (3.8 cm x 4.4 cm x 12.2 cm)
