Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful mold-made terracotta bust of a female goddess - perhaps Minerva - with a gentle visage and finely-executed details. She wears a flowing himation with dozens of ripples across her shoulders, and a slender neck supports her slightly-upturned head. Delicate eyes, a petite nose, rounded chin, and thin lips comprise her sensitive countenance, with locks of plaited hair and a crested headdress framing her head. This is a wonderful example of femininity and grace in the Roman Empire! Custom lucite display stand included. Size: 4.375" H (11.1 cm); 6" H (15.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
