Ancient Eastern Mediterranean, Roman Empire / Phoenicia, ca. 4th BCE to 3rd century CE. An elegant pair of earrings, each comprised of two ancient glass beads assembled on modern gold components. The ear hooks are 75% (equivalent to 18K) gold with slender chains and pin findings strung with a petite, cobalt seed bead and a square bead with white banding. Size of earring: 1.75" L (4.4 cm); square bead: 0.28" L x 0.3" W (0.7 cm x 0.8 cm); gold quality: 75% (equivalent to 18K); silver quality: 18%; weight: 2.1 grams
