Roman North Africa, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. This lamp is one of the mass produced, mold-made pottery lamps from Roman North Africa. It has a rich, deep color and has clearly been used. It has a sunken discus, a central pour hole, an unpierced lug handle, and a wide channel running down the nozzle. The design on the discus of this lamp is floral with vines. It is surrounded by densely packed shapes, done in a raised and stippled style. Size: 5.05" L x 2.95" W x 2.2" H (12.8 cm x 7.5 cm x 5.6 cm)
