Roman North Africa, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. A wonderfully preserved, mold-made pottery lamp in the style created in Roman North Africa. It has a rich, deep red color and has clearly been used based on the blackened deposits on the spout. It has a sunken discus, a central pour hole, an unpierced lug handle, and a wide channel running down the nozzle. The design on the discus of is floral with vines, surrounded by square and floral forms on a raised border. Size: 5.5" W x 2.3" H (14 cm x 5.8 cm)
