Description:

**Originally Listed At $1200**

Ancient Rome, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Given the enormous scale of this hand, just imagine how large the figure was - whether warrior, god, or hero - to whom it belonged. This is definitely not a case of tiny hands making for, ahem, small manhood (in light of one Republican candidate's recents comments about another's physique). We see the thumb and fingers clenching what might have been a toga or garment. The physiognomy of the hand is quite naturalistic - just look at those nailbeds and the realistic curvature. Clearly this sculptor knew how to turn stone to living flesh! Size: 4" L x 6.5" W x 12" H (10.2 cm x 16.5 cm x 30.5 cm)
