Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. Lovely marble section most likely from a sarcophagus. A somewhat sensuous relief of a reclining semi-nude female banqueter; she lays with her weight on her left arm, her gown pulled down below her naval, breasts bared; she looks to the left, her hair pulled behind her head. Size: 10.5" W x 7.375" H (26.7 cm x 18.7 cm)

Provenance: private East Coast, USA collection; ex-William Froelich collection, New York, USA, acquired in the 1970s
