A skillfully carved marble head of a female, likely a goddess, with well-executed features: large lidded almond-shaped eyes delineated with partially drilled irises/pupils, a naturalistic nose, pursed lips, delicate nasolabial folds, and a slightly jutting chin. Crowning this visage is a full head of wavy locks. A mesmerizing visage from ancient Rome. Size: 3.75" W x 5.95" H (9.5 cm x 15.1 cm)

  • Condition: Head is a fragment from a larger statue, with break line along the neck. Wear on surface commensurate with age including normal smoothing to features and some light pitting, but overall the form is well preserved as are the details of the face and coiffure.
