Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Finely cast via the lost wax process, a leaded bronze statuette of Diana (Greek Artemis), goddess of the hunt, presenting in a dynamic pose with her left leg bent at the knee, her right leg extended behind, and her arms raised and positioned as if aiming a bow at her target. She looks forward with a focused visage - her elegant facial features well delineated and crowned by a centrally-parted coiffure that is rolled back from her forehead and topped by a leafy wreath or diadem. Her wonderfully posed body is covered by flowing garments with billowing drapery folds and a strap across her chest to hold the quiver on her back as well as leglets around her calves. A lovely example from ancient Rome! Size: 2" W x 2.8" H (5.1 cm x 7.1 cm)

Please note: Lucite stand is for photography purposes only.
