Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. late 1st to 2nd century CE. A nice cast-lead figurine depicting Jupiter (Greek Zeus), the god of thunder and lightning and the premier god of the Roman pantheon of deities. Jupiter presents standing atop an integral platform while wearing a lengthy himation and curling his left arm up towards his shoulder and head. His masculine face presents with petite eyes and a flush nose, a slender mouth surrounded by a bushy beard, and a curly, backswept coiffure that drapes down to the nape of his neck. Lustrous tan patina has formed across the figurine and imbues it with an attractive presentation. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 0.7" W x 1.75" H (1.8 cm x 4.4 cm)
