Roman, Republican Period, ca. 47 BCE. A collection of ancient weaponry projectiles and a ring collected from the city of Zela (Zile) in modern day Turkey, the location of several important battles including Julius Caesar's 47 BCE victory which inspired his famous declaration: "Veni Vidi Vici." Ten bronze arrow and crossbow bolt tips, 6 lead slingshot projectiles, and a bronze ring all in a modern Riker display case. Please note, the paper label that came with the pieces has the incorrect battle date year. Size of largest arrow tip: 1.5" L x 0.3" W (3.8 cm x 0.8 cm); case: 12" L x 8" W (30.5 cm x 20.3 cm)
