Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st century BCE. An amazingly rare coin die made about 32 BCE showing the obverse of a legionary denarius of Mark Anthony - he of Anthony and Cleopatra fame. Die shows a Roman galley - a type of war ship - facing right, inscribed AVG III VIR. R. P. C. Coin dies are rare to find especially of these earlier issues! Size: 1" L x 1" W (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm)
