Rome, Imperial, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A stunning glass ampulla boasting a globular body and an elongated neck that expands outwards to an annular rim, all sitting upon a concave, circular base. Boasting a beautiful translucent surface in a hue of light blue-green, the ancient vessel has been skillfully adorned with several lines of trailing of varying thickness in a vibrant shade of teal. Size: 2.625" in diameter x 5.125" H (6.7 cm x 13 cm)

A copy of a Certificate of Authenticity from the Archaeological Shop at the Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv will accompany this lot, as well a signed personal card of Moshe Dayan (1915 to 1981 CE), an Israeli military leader and politician.

  • Condition: Collection number inscribed on base. Stable fissures to rim. Pontil scar to side of body indicating this vessel was free-blown. Encrustations across some of interior, with light weathering film. Otherwise, intact and excellent with lovely earthen deposits and great iridescence.
