Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A lightly convex mirror, made from cast bronze with a high tin percentage in the copper alloy so that the tin face can be polished on one side. This polished side appears silvery and has been nicely preserved. Mirrors were personal items, often owned by women, and this would have been a treasured object for the Roman woman who used it. Size: 6.05" W (15.4 cm); 7.5" H (19 cm) on included custom stand.
