Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A bronze applique with a rounded lower portion and a reclining figure of Eros. In the Roman period, Eros had become a child (in earlier Greek times, he was often a muscular youth), but he retains his mischievous air, ready to help couples fall in love through not-entirely-innocent interventions. Here he is chubby and winged, but his pose suggests insousciance. Comes with custom stand. Size: 1.9" W x 2.1" H (4.8 cm x 5.3 cm); height on stand: 2.9" (7.4 cm).
