Roman, Iberian Peninsula, Iberian culture, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A striking leaded bronze standing figure created via the lost wax (cire perdue) method and wearing a 45% gold (equivalent of over 10 karat gold) hoop earring. Topped with intricately incised hair, the ancient gentleman is shown standing and facing to his left as he places his right hand on his chest and extends his left arm forward. His stylized visage features an open mouth, a round nose, and ovoid eyes all under a broad headband. Quality of gold: 45%, equivalent to over 10 karat; Size: 1.25" W x 2.25" H (3.2 cm x 5.7 cm); 3.625" H (9.2 cm) on included custom stand.
