Roman, Imperial Period, reign of Honorius, ca. 393 to 423 CE, Milan Mint. Gold solidus. Obverse: DN HONORI - VS PF AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right. Reverse: VICTORI A AVGg, Emperor standing right, holding vexillum and Victory on globe, placing foot on captive cowing before him, COMOB in exergue, R - V across field. He was emperor in the West from 393 to 423, a period when much of the Western Empire was overrun by invading tribes and when Rome was captured by the Visigoths.
