Roman, Holy Land, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A trio of mold-formed pottery oil lamps. The smallest lamp has a thick base, a circular body with several impressed geometric panels, and a wide wick spout. A second lamp has a ringed base, tall walls, a small fill hole, and two projecting wick spouts. The largest lamp has a ringed base, thick walls, a circular body with a short projecting handle, a large fill hole, and a thick wick spout. A lovely collection of varying lamp styles from the ancient Holy Land! Size: 3.3" L x 2.625" W (8.4 cm x 6.7 cm).

  • Condition: Double-spouted lamp has loss to original handle. Largest lamp has losses to areas of wick spout. Each lamp has surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, small nicks to bases, bodies, and wick spouts, with some char marks to wick spouts. Light earthen deposits and some encrustations throughout.
