Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, Holy Land (Herodian), ca. 37 BCE to 70 CE. A very rare form of mold-made terracotta oil lamp, its large discus studded with nine round fill holes, one at the center and the others between the petals of an incised decorative flower. A large loop handle is one one side; a small projecting spout sits ninety-degrees around the body from it. Lamps of this style are usually found in Judea and Jerusalem. Size: 4.6" L x 4" W x 1.25" H (11.7 cm x 10.2 cm x 3.2 cm)
