Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A petite free-blown oinochoe, formed from a pale pistachio-hued glass, with a slight concave ring base, a globular body which gently tapers to a narrow neck, a funnel-form mouth, folded rim, and an applied trail handle joining rim to body. A ubiquitous layer of pale-yellow-hued earthen material has developed on the surface, and only increases the beauty of this vessel by complementing the fiery areas of rainbow-colored iridescence beneath. A simply stunning example of Roman glass-blowing artistry! Size: 3.625" H (9.2 cm).
