Description:

Roman, late Imperial Period, ca. late 3rd to early 5th century CE. A gorgeous vessel formed from translucent glass of a pale yellow hue that is accentuated with a myriad of vertical impressions across the body. The cylindrical vessel rests atop a concave base with a smooth pontil scar and has a rounded shoulder beneath a cylindrical neck. A trail of cobalt blue glass coils around the upper neck just beneath the flared, smoothed rim and thickens before arching downward to form the handle. Faint areas of rainbow-hued iridescence nicely complement the colors of this glass composition. Size: 1.875" W x 4.2" H (4.8 cm x 10.7 cm); 5" H (12.7 cm) on included custom stand.
