**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A lovely free-blown, semi-translucent glass unguentarium of a vibrant amber hue with a round but stable base and wide, smooth pontil scar, a teardrop-shaped body, a dimpled neck base, a tubular neck, and an in-folded rim. The golden-brown color is further accentuated with scattered areas of faint silvery iridescence, imbuing the vessel with an opulent presentation. Size: 1.875" W x 3.8" H (4.8 cm x 9.7 cm).

  • Condition: Neck and spout repaired from multiple pieces with some restoration, small chips, and light adhesive residue along break lines. Surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, small chips to rim and neck, and light roughness across base and rim. Light earthen deposits and scattered areas of faint silver iridescence throughout.
