Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A beautiful oxidized-silver necklace with a central fragmentary pendant of highly-iridescent, blue-green glass. The top of the glass vase is wrapped with wire along the neck for supporting the thin chain-cage design holding the glass in place. Above the glass is a central hoop and a T-bar fastener; this allows the necklace to be worn in a lengthy or drawn-up manner. Created in modern times and wearable for any occasion, this is a stunning example of ancient art turned modern fashion! Size: 19.75" L (50.2 cm).
