Description:

Ancient Rome, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. Oh what an elegant form! Oh what a breathtaking color scheme! This light green glass vase with its ovoid body, graceful tapering conical neck, characteristic splayed lip and dimpled base stands upon a deep blue, thickly trailed ring. Two sinuous glass trails of that same bold blue hue contrast beautifully with its translucent, pale green body. Further enhancing the beauty of this piece are the generous areas of silvery and rainbow iridescence that have developed over the ages. Thanks to the Roman invention of the blowpipe and the keen eye of ancient artisans, glass wonders such as this example came to be! Size: 4" W x 8.125" H (10.2 cm x 20.6 cm)
