Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely hand-blown blue glass vase with a near-translucent composition. The vessel is comprised of a slightly concave base with a jagged pontil, an apple-shaped body, a wide, tubular neck, and a rolled lip underneath the unpronounced rim. Twin applied undulating trail handles flow from the rim to the shoulder. The lower body of the vessel was gently pressed inward, forming a regular, lightly indented texture around it. Time has left this piece intact, but has added several beautiful patches of rainbow and golden iridescence. Size: 4.5" W x 5.45" H (11.4 cm x 13.8 cm)
