Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely example of an ancient gold-capped glass pendant. The glass was originally a beautiful deep blue and time has given it a rainbow iridescence that shimmers and changes with lighting conditions. Two ancient 97% gold caps (equivalent to 22K+) contain the columnar piece of glass, which is attached to a modern necklace strand using gold wire to make this ancient amulet wearable today! Size (pendant): 0.375" W x 0.75" H (1 cm x 1.9 cm); (necklace strand): 22" L (55.9 cm); gold is 97%, equivalent to 22K+.
