Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A lovely near-opaque glass flask featuring components from two different ancient vessels. The emerald-hued piriform body has a slight-concave base and walls which gradually taper to a narrow neck line. The cylindrical spout, yellow in color, has a flared rim and a funnel mouth. The connecting rims of both neck and body have been lightly ground down to fit seamlessly together. The neck itself displays beautiful areas of golden iridescence, and both components boast thick areas of fiery rainbow iridescence in hues of sapphire, amethyst, emerald, citrine, and ruby. Size: 3.375" W x 7" H (8.6 cm x 17.8 cm).
