Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A lovely bottle that was free-blown from translucent, blue-green glass. A slender, conical neck with an annular, lipped rim rises from the apple-shaped body, all sitting upon a circular, concave base. The fire-polished surface is remarkably crystalline and boasts glistening flakes of golden and rainbow iridescence throughout. Size: 5.25" W x 7.125" H (13.3 cm x 18.1 cm)

Provenance: ex-Herakles, Huntersville, North Carolina, USA; ex-Virginia, USA collection, acquired in Syria prior to 1981
