Description:

Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A gorgeous mold-blown vessel of a translucent, yellow-green glass with a slight concave base, an apple-shaped body with a rounded shoulder, a slightly-recessed neck base tracing upwards to a tubular neck, and a thick, in-folded rim. Dense areas of encrustations cover most surfaces, though much of the exterior is enveloped with brilliant rainbow iridescence in a palette of various colors. A finely-executed example of utilitarian Roman glass! Size: 3.75" W x 5.75" H (9.5 cm x 14.6 cm).
