Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An elegant glass aryballos vessel of translucent green hues, its form comprised of a near spherical body on a flat base, a short tubular neck rising to a collared rim, with generous trailed handles joining neck to shoulder. Upon close inspection one can also appreciate attractive horizontal wheel marks adorning the exterior walls as well as the fiery rainbow iridescence in purple, aqua, and hot pink hues. A beautiful example of ancient Roman glass! Size: 3" H (7.6 cm)
