Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A lovely amphoriskos of a slender form, made from semi-translucent, pale-blue glass with a drop-form base, an ovoid body with a slanted shoulder, a tapering tubular neck, and a flared rim with a rolled lip. Several thin striations course around the neck and body of the vessel, and gorgeous layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence cover the exterior. Roman ladies would employ stylish vessels like this to contain their precious scented oils and perfumes. Custom lucite display stand included. Size: 1.375" W x 5.4" H (3.5 cm x 13.7 cm); 5.875" H (14.9 cm) on included custom stand.

For a stylistically-similar example made from amber-hued glass, please see The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 74.51.27.
