A delightful Roman carnelian intaglio depicting the winged goddess Victoria (Greek Nike), the Roman embodiment of victory, striding left while holding out a wreath, all set in a Neoclassical gilt silver bezel. The helmeted goddess additionally supports stalks of palm on her shoulder, another symbol of triumph. Size: 0.7" L x 0.5" W (1.8 cm x 1.3 cm); silver quality: 96.26%; weight: 1.9 grams
