Late Roman to early Byzantine period, ca. late 3rd to 5th century CE. A gorgeous glass sprinkler flask, mold-formed from semi-translucent, pale yellow-green glass with a rounded base, a spherical body with a rounded shoulder, a pinched neck line leading to a tubular neck, and a flared rim. The body exhibits a dense pattern-molded net motif which imbues the vessel with dozens of petite diamond forms. Thick layers of stunning silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence envelop most exterior surfaces in a bright palette of color and elegantly complement the soft spring hues. A fantastic example of ancient glass artistry! Size: 2.375" W x 3.625" H (6 cm x 9.2 cm).
