Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A cast bronze shrine figure of a young man wearing a toga draped over his head and body. The toga had begun to fall out of fashion in the late first century BCE, so the Emperor Augustus made it an unofficial state dress, reviving the ancient look. Togatus figures come in many varieties, and votive ones of this size seem to have been made for a personal shrine or altar. Size: 1.05" W x 3.5" H (2.7 cm x 8.9 cm)
