Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A cast bronze miniature statue of the god Apollo, depicted here in a semi-seated manner as if he was once attached to a horse or in some way mounted. He wears a cloak, flung back over one shoulder, a crown, sandals, and a quiver of arrows on his back. The cloak has been cast with excellent detail, and his face, hair, and musculature are all well rendered. Apollo, god of music, poetry, art, and knowledge, is portrayed here, as he always was, as a beardless, athletic youth - an exemplar of Classical beauty. Size: 1.35" L x 1.35" W x 2.25" H (3.4 cm x 3.4 cm x 5.7 cm); 2.65" H (6.7 cm) on included custom stand.
