Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An adorable cast-bronze miniature in the form of a rabbit. The animal is depicted in a classic striding pose atop four uniform legs and bears a well-modeled, naturalistic body comprised of a rounded torso, a slender head with puffy jowls, a pair of elongated ears, and a bushy tail atop its posterior. Smooth areas of light and dark green patina have developed over the ages. A fabulous example of zoomorphic artwork from the Roman Empire! Size: 1.75" L x 1.125" H (4.4 cm x 2.9 cm).
