Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A beautiful bronze key with a hooped ring. Both the shoulder and small protrusion are decorated with incised linear details, perhaps meant as a personalized touch. A large rectangular key face extends laterally from the protrusion, and three deep grooves denote the unique pin arrangement specific to the lock for which it was created. The stunning emerald-green patina evenly covers the exterior, creating a smooth and reflective surface. A fabulous and intact example! Size: 2.25" L x 1.125" W (5.7 cm x 2.9 cm).
