**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A fine cast-bronze statue of a horse depicted in a classic leaping pose with both front legs lifted off the ground as if caught mid-jump. The muscular body stands upon a pair of curved back legs which rest firmly on the ground, and a sinuous tail drapes down from atop its posterior. Almond-shaped eyes, flaring nostrils, a thick snout, and a pair of perky ears comprise the naturalistic visage, its head held high and accentuated by its cresting mane. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 2.875" L x 3.75" H (7.3 cm x 9.5 cm); 4" H (10.2 cm) on included custom stand.
