Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A bronze vessel of a piriform shape with a nubbin terminus at the base and a gently flared rim, suspended from a hammered handle looped through a pair of raised, perforated ends. Size: 2.625" in diameter x 5.75" H (6.7 cm x 14.6 cm) including handle; 9.125" H (23.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection acquired before 2000; ex-private Renwick collection of Powell, Ohio according to label that came inside piece
