Roman Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous pendant comprised of a bronze coin, ancient Roman glass, faceted aquamarine and topaz all set in a sterling silver bezel. The bottom most setting is form fitted around a glass shard that is covered with a stunning rainbow iridescence across the surface. Above one corner of the glass fragment is a faceted white topaz stone and to the other is a topaz and aquamarine stone. Above the glass is a Roman bronze coin that has a standing man with a second figure in profile, perhaps Victory crowning and emperor. The pendant is strung on a modern cord with a lobster clasp as a wearable necklace. Size of pendant: 1.8" L x 0.75" W (4.6 cm x 1.9 cm); cord: 21" L (53.3 cm); silver quality: 92.5%; weight: 8.5 gams
