Description:

Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. What a beautiful marvel of Euclidean or shall I say Vitruvian geometry, given that this is a Roman piece! A free-blown blue-green glass vessel with areas of translucency as well as areas of rainbow iridescence, presenting a form that plays with classical geometry in a wonderful way. Standing on a circular ring base, the square body is pinched on each face creating rounded indentations. The body then corsettes in to a short round neck with an outfolded circular rim. An attractive form exhibiting expert technique as well as a breathtaking aesthetic. Size: 2.75" W x 3.375" H (7 cm x 8.6 cm)
