Description:

Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful blue-green glass bottle with a stable base, squat spherical body, cylindrical neck, a thick flared rim, and a small conical spout. Liquid would have been poured into the body of the vessel and tipped forward to facilitate feeding an infant. A fiery layer of rainbow-hued iridescence gives this bottle a vibrant appearance. Size: 2.625" W x 3.75" H (6.7 cm x 9.5 cm).

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-Shlomo Moussaieff collection, 1948-2000, Israel; exported from Israel with the export authorization from the Israeli antiquities authority the export authorization from the Israeli antiquities authority.
