Description:

Roman, Imperial period, modern-day France or Spain, ca. late 1st century CE. A lovely pottery beaker displaying a discoid foot and straight walls adorned with "en barbotine" decoration. Enveloped in olive-hued glaze, the vessel features 5 vertical bands of 4 conical projections, each band separated by a raised, vertical stripe. Incised horizontal striations line the area below the rim and before the foot. A slight, silvery iridescence can be seen in areas, imbuing the example with an elegant presentation reminiscent of Ancient Rome! Size: 3" W x 2.75" H (7.6 cm x 7 cm)
