Eastern Roman Empire, Imperial Period, Anatolian (modern-day Turkey), ca. 2nd to 4th century. A stylish mold-made terracotta oil-burning vessel with a flat base, angled sides, rounded shoulders with eight raised spectacle-fibula-shaped designs enclosed by a pointillist border, a thick, creased applied handle, a wide fill hole surrounded by a raised set of concentric circles, a wide neck channel, and a gaping wick spout. Both attractive and functional! Size: 4.55" L x 2.3" W x 1.45" H (11.6 cm x 5.8 cm x 3.7 cm).
