A striking ancient Roman ring, with a handsome gold setting comprised of 92% gold (equivalent to 22K+), the style a signet variant with a 'beaded' border around the bezel and an angular shoulder, featuring an oval carnelian intaglio of deep red hues that depicts a standing warrior holding a shield in one hand and a spear in the other. Quite striking! Size: intaglio measures .625" L x .375" W (1.6 cm x 1 cm); opening measures .875" L x .75" W (2.2 cm x 1.9 cm); US ring size 4; total weight: 14.6 grams.

  • Condition: There are a few chips to the carnelian stone - to the right edge of the stone - that do not interfere with the figural imagery. Slight surface wear to the shank. Traces of green pigment at lower section of beaded border. Gold has developed a beautiful warm patina over the ages.
