A beautiful 88% gold (20K+) ring with an oval red jasper intaglio of warm vermilion hues that is finely carved with the bust of a female, facing left and donning an impressive cylindrical crown or tholos. Her visage is composed of delicate features, a singular open eye, a slender nose, pursed lips above a rounded chin, and nicely-contoured cheek bones, all beneath a wavy fringe of rolled back tresses topped by her opulent headdress. A stunning example of wearable art from ancient Rome! Size of intaglio: 0.55" H (1.4 cm); ring diameter is: 0.95" D (2.4 cm); US ring size: 8.25; gold quality: 88%, equivalent to over 20 karat. Weight: 4.1 grams.
