Description:

Northern / Eastern Europe, probably western Russia, Viking / Viking Rus, ca. 1000 to 1400 CE. A cast bronze pendant in a form common to the late Migration Period / early medieval in western Russia, shaped like a seated ram (or possibly horse), with its head and horns (perhaps ears) carefully depicted in exquisite tiny detail. Five chains with dangling round bells hang below the pendant. This was made to be worn on the belt in order to draw the ear and eye, a very popular style during this time period. Size: 1.5" W x 2.4" H (3.8 cm x 6.1 cm)
