North Pacific, Hawaii, ca. 19th century CE. A remarkable wood jar presenting thick walls that rise to a tall body with a sloped shoulder, a corseted neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a flat, circular base. The natural woodgrain surface displays hues of caramel, butterscotch, and toffee, while several incised, parallel striations adorn the shoulder and upper half of the body. Size: 5.5" in diameter x 13.125" H (14 cm x 33.3 cm)
