Description:

Pre-Columbian, Dominican Republic, Taino or Ciboney peoples, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A hand-built earthenware bowl with a flat base and pinched walls incised with a trio of horizontal striations. The wide walls form the overall shape of the shallow basin and has a lightly overhanging rim. Centered on each handle is an abstract face with several impressions and tooled facial grooves, each flanked by a pair of finger-shaped nubs. Size: 11.2" W x 3.875" H (28.4 cm x 9.8 cm).
