Description:

Western Asia and Siberia, Scythian culture, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A fabulous forged-carbon-steel akinakes (also acinaces) sword with a slender handle, a T-bar pommel, and a chevron-shaped handguard. The lengthy blade has sharpened edges, a shallow midrib on both sides, and a pointed tip. While bronze versions of akinakes are far more uncommon than their iron and steel counterparts, finding an intact example like this one is quite rare. Size: 16.6" L x 2.125" W (42.2 cm x 5.4 cm)
